“There is nothing so patient, in this world or any other, as a virus searching for a host.”
Mira Grant, Countdown

It was all just a blur to me, When the insidious virus continued to flee, Leaving behind the people it destroyed, Leaving behind an empty void. But I recall the day, When our freedom was taken away, The virus had taken over everything, Thus, the government started abolishing. It was like a home arrest to me, I never imagined something like this could ever be, There was a time when panic swelled within me, But I had to calm myself down, And was forced to look around. It wasn’t easy to live like this, But I was hopeful that in the end, It would all finish with a sigh of bliss, Making everything normal and blend. But we would never forget, The people who died, And the ones who cried, The children who lost everything they had, The parents who never got to love their lad. When it all ends, It would never be the same, But we would never let The sacrifices be in vain.
