Tears

“But a mermaid has no tears, and therefore she suffers so much more.”

Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Mermaid
‘Tears, what are they?’
Tears, the unspoken words you speak with your eyes when your thoughts turn grey.
Tears, the language our heart speaks when words aren’t enough.
Tears, the reflection of our heart when we smile even though life is rough.
Tears, the messenger of deep feelings that hide in your heart.
Tears, the ones that shape the curvatures of your sculpted art.
 Amazing are these tears.
You keep shedding them without letting anyone know for years
You sob every single day without showing a sign.
When your parents ask, all you say is, ‘I’m totally fine.’
Tears, so tiny, yet they work wonders.
Tears make it easy for us to express.
 I must say, I’m impressed!
Whichever tongue you might speak, tears are understood by all.
They either control or are controlled; that is your call.
